Orlando, Fla.—Bradford Denny has joined the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) as Executive Director effective November 1, 2021.
Most recently, Denny was vice president of Nichols Tile and Terrazzo, a family-owned tile contractor based in Nashville, Tennessee. He has a proven track record as a contractor and a leader in the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA). as a board member of the tax authorities. In January 2016 he became a certified tiler.
In 2021 Denny received the NTCA Tile Person of the Year Award for his volunteer work. According to CTEF, he has a passion for the tile industry, the importance of proper tile installation practices and standards, and serves as a respected mentor in the installation community.
Denny fills the role that Bart Bettiga, Executive Director of NTCA and member of the Board of Directors of CTEF, has fulfilled on an interim basis. “It’s about time the foundation has committed leadership to take CTEF to a new level by leveraging all the tools introduced in recent years,” said Bettiga. “We are delighted to have found the person we are confident will make that happen.”
As Executive Director of CTEF, Denny will lead CTEF from his home office in Nashville. According to the company, he will be in regular contact with CTEF volunteers, board members and CTEF staff. Scott Carothers, CTEF Director of Certification and Training, will guide him as he expands the program and trains evaluators, while continuing to lead educational and training classes and programs offered by the foundation.

Bettiga said the biggest threat to the tile industry’s growth is the lack of qualified and trained tilers. “The success of the CTI and ACT certification programs, as well as the training offered by the CTEF, is an essential part of solving this problem,” said Bettiga. “Having a leader like Brad Denny on board is an important step in building on CTEF’s mission.
