Dean E. Newton

FORESTVILLE — Dean E. Newton, 59, of Dennison Road, Forestville, died on Thursday, September 30, 202.1 at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, Massachusetts. He was born in Silver Creek, on October 10, 1961, the son of the late Carlton L. and Madeline A. (Mason) Newton.

Dean graduated from Forestville Central School in 1979 and devoted 41 years to his passion as a plumber for Fredonia Heating and Plumbing in Fredonia.

He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Dean was a diehard Bills fan and attended many Country & 80s music concerts. He was very proud of his children and adored his granddaughter. In previous years, he devoted his free time to coaching his son’s baseball team for four years and enjoyed watching his children play sports as they grew up.

Survivors include his love of his life, Gretchen M. (Potmesil) Newton of Forestville, whom he married in 1983 in Forestville; a daughter, Nicolette Newton of Mary Esther, Florida; a son, Nathan Newton of Cattaraugus; and a brother, Bruce Newton of Sheridan. Also surviving are a granddaughter, Sophia Batiste.

Friends are welcome to call Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main St., Forestville, on Friday from 4-7 p.m., from where funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with Rev. David Watson, pastor of the Sheridan United Methodist Church officiating. Interent will follow in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, city of Hanover.
