St. Louis, Mo.—EJ Welch Company is continuing along its path of rapid expansion in the flooring industry by expanding its leadership team. The latest initiative in its efforts to grow its brand nationwide is hiring and promoting a wide range of seasoned professionals with experience in commercial and residential flooring and installation products.
“Opportunities in finding exceptional team members in the flooring industry are vast, from sales and operations to marketing,” said Kavita McCarthy, president of EJ Welch.
McCarthy said she has taken full advantage of those possibilities by bringing on board the following leadership:
Diane Drake, who joined in a newly created position as vice president of commercial solutions, comes to EJ Welch with over two decades of experience in the commercial flooring industry. She brings years of expertise in flooring sales management, new business development, project management and strategic planning. Her previous roles include vice president strategic accounts-healthcare with Tarkett and prior experience at Masland Contract and Tandus Centiva.
Chris Vaughn, who was hired initially as an account manager in Oklahoma in 2019, has been promoted to senior director of sales and operations over Oklahoma and Colorado. Vaughn offers a wealth of experience in account management and business development. He previously worked with Bryan’s Flooring, American Marazzi Tile, Mohawk Industries and Daltile Corporation.
Brad Scott, another flooring veteran with three decades of experience, has joined as an account director leading the mid-central region, specifically Northern Illinois, Eastern Wisconsin, Eastern Iowa and Michigan. He brings to EJ Welch an abundance of knowledge and experience in all categories of flooring, as well as experience in market penetration in different business sectors. Scott was previously with All Tile/CCS in sales management, where he excelled in company growth and relationship building.
Jeff Eichler has a long tenure in the flooring industry before joining EJ Welch, also as an account director overseeing the mid-south region, which includes Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Central Tennessee. His experience includes positions with Custom Floors & Custom Stone, Shaw Industries and Anderson Tuftex.
Two recent internal promotions were Maria Padron, director of data management, and Chad Robertson, appointed director of logistics. Both were with T&L Distribution, with extensive experience in their respective areas of expertise.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with the talent we have been able to attract to EJ Welch,” McCarthy said. “This expanded leadership team has a stellar reputation and excellent relationships in the industry, bringing new levels of growth to EJ Welch.”
