Dalton—The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) welcomes Bill Blackstock to its board of directors. According to FCEF, he will fill the seat currently occupied by Dean Thompson, Blackstock’s predecessor at RFCI. With Thompson’s retirement, Blackstock will assume his role as president and CEO of the Resilient Floor Covering Institute and serve on the FCEF board of directors.
“With a small management team at FCEF, we depend on a committed board of directors to drive us forward and promote our efforts within the industry,” said Jim Aaron, FCEF Executive Director. “We’ve benefited immensely from Dean’s voice and we’re excited to bring Bill on board to share his perspective.”
Blackstock will meet in person with the FCEF leadership and the rest of the board at their meeting on Nov. 10 in Chattanooga. The board meets in person twice a year to provide insight, ideas and support to the FCEF team.
“I have some big shoes to fill to take over Dean’s chair, but I’m excited to get involved with FCEF and their efforts to solve the installer shortage,” Blackstock said. “We are all affected by the lack of qualified installers and I am excited to be part of the solution with FCEF.”
FCEF’s board of directors is made up of representatives from manufacturers, retailers and industry associations to provide a broad range of perspectives for solving an industry-wide problem – the shortage of qualified installation professionals.
