Roofing company employee ticketed after crash backs up traffic on I-75 near Wildwood

An employee of a roofing company was ticketed Tuesday after a three-vehicle accident blocked traffic on Interstate 75 near Wildwood.

According to an accident report from Florida Highway Patrol.

The roofing company’s truck drifted off the roadway and hit a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck driven by a 40-year-old Lakeland man parked on the verge. After hitting the trailer, the Batterbee Roofing truck backed up into the northbound lane and collided with a maroon 2011 Nissan Rogue being driven northbound by a 25-year-old Dunnellon woman. The airbags in her vehicle deployed on impact. She and a 40-year-old male passenger from Dunnellon both suffered non-disabling injuries.

The Batterbeee Roofing employee and the other driver escaped unhurt.

The Batterbee Roofing employee was fined for not driving in one lane.
