Section of Comstock Avenue to Temporarily Close Saturday Due to Building Project

Campus and community

A portion of Comstock Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 due to the chiller replacement project at the Life Sciences Complex. Comstock Avenue will be closed between Euclid Avenue and University Place.

Access for local traffic will be maintained with the assistance of members of the Public Safety Department and construction flags. All other traffic will be diverted via Ostrom Avenue.

The shutdown is necessary for a crane to place upgraded HVAC equipment on the roof of the Life Sciences Complex. The entire project includes upgrades to the Life Sciences Complex air conditioning system. When the project is completed, the building’s cooling capacity and efficiency will be expanded. The work must be installed before converting the university’s HVAC system to winter cooling mode.

For questions or concerns, please contact Clinton Maloney, CPDC Project Manager, at 315.440.8595 or [email protected]

For everyone’s safety, you are encouraged to stay alert in work areas, watch for route changes, follow construction flags/worker directions, and follow pedestrian signs.

Delays in the intended work may occur as a result of weather conditions and/or unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a significant delay, updates will be provided as soon as possible.
